I have had a big love affair with flowers and gardens for a long time. Flowers are a huge part of our lives and are always present to mark important occasions. They hold different meanings for each of us. They are often associated with love, passion, appreciation and support, among many other things. There's a story behind every bouquet and I want to hear it!

Has there been a time in your life that flowers have held special meaning for you? Maybe it's your wedding bouquet? Tell me the story of how you two met. Maybe you reached a milestone or achievement like finishing school? Tell me about that experience. Maybe there's that one resilient flower that keeps coming back in the yard despite being neglected for years? Tell me about what it means to you.

When I ran a marathon, I received a beautiful bouquet after I crossed the finish line and I was SO proud of what I had done. Those flowers represented achieving the impossible for me. Never in a million years did I think I could run 42.1 km, yet, I did after many hours of training and determination. A few years ago when life was normal, we hosted a dinner at home with some friends we hadn't seen for a long time. My friend Chantal brought me flowers that I ended up painting the day after. Now, every time I see that painting, it stands for friendship and reminds me of memories shared with dear friends.

I am interested in seeing images of the flowers you love and I want to hear those stories!

Let's spell it out:

  1. Send me a picture of a single flower or a flower bouquet that holds special meaning for you.
It can not be a photo from the internet. The photo must be taken by you or by someone else as long as you have their permission.

  2. Tell me your story!! It can be a full colourful story of how you met your soulmate or it can simply be a couple of words or sentences that tell us why that person is important to you.
It can also just be a couple of single unrelated words of what those flowers mean to you: "resilience, friendship, support". Basically, it can be whatever you want, you get the picture. Keep it simple, don't make it so complicated it stops you from sending something in!

  3. Stay Tuned! This project is going to take a minimum of one year and the end result is TBD. I have some ideas in mind already but I want to let it take a life of its own.

I'm looking forward to seeing where this project takes us!
