My Story
Hi, I’m Marcela. I’ve been painting for over 20 years and I’ve devoted the last 14 years to painting with oils almost exclusively. I’ve tried many ways and I’ve found what works for me. When I switched over from acrylics to oils, I felt very confused. I didn’t know what materials to pick. I asked questions and heard conflicting information. Everybody was doing things differently and finding processes that worked for me was hard. I eventually took a course from an artist I admired and everything clicked.
This online course is for those persons wanting to get started with oil painting and are at the same spot I was years ago.
There’s a lot I’ve learned about art, creativity, and working as an artist over the years. I’d love to share it all and walk alongside you in this next stage of your creative journey. I hope you’ll join me!

FAQs
⭐ I have never painted before, is this course for me?
Yes! You will learn the steps to go from an idea to a finished painting in oils. No previous experience is required. There has never been a better time to start than NOW!
⭐ I paint with acrylics, can I still do the course?
Yes! I’ll be painting in oils and will cover my journey in transitioning from acrylics to oils. Lots of the topics will be foundational and independent of the medium you use. I use exactly the same process to paint in both acrylics and oils. While you‘d benefit more from using the same medium, the choice is yours, you can paint in acrylics or oils.
⭐ Do I need a lot of supplies?
A list of recommended materials will be sent after registration. If you already have supplies, I don't want you to go buy a bunch of new colours you don’t know you’ll like but rather feel familiar and confident with the ones you already have. There will be suggestions for new painters who have no supplies.
⭐ Are the supplies expensive?
It depends. Getting a complete set of colours, brushes, and canvas can be expensive but you don’t need to have everything to get started. Specific suggestions will be provided in the supplies list. I’ll indicate where you can save money and where you shouldn’t.
⭐ Where will we meet?
The classes are recorded and you will receive an email with links to access them. You can go through them at your pace in the comfort of your home/studio. All 4 live sessions will be in a Zoom classroom. A link to access it will be emailed the week before we start.
⭐ Are refunds available?
Unfortunately, due to the nature of this offer, refunds are not available.
⭐ I don’t like Facebook. Do I need to join the group?
Being part of the group is not mandatory but your experience will be much richer if you have the support and encouragement of friends going through the same process.
⭐ When will the course be ready?
