Just Like Back Home

$350.00

Some streets of Victoria are lined with cherry trees which when they are blooming in the spring create the most spectacular sights in our city. It was fascinating for me to learn the history behind these trees that speaks of a desire to bring elements of a past community into the new one.

The Victoria’s Japanese Community Association donated thousands of trees to be planted in the city, in Vancouver, and along the B.C. coast. Today we are able to enjoy the results of that gesture back in 1937.

This painting showcases on of those trees in Victoria. It was a joy to paint this one, on a crisp morning in the company of some good friends!

  • 12 x 12 x 1.5 inches

  • Oil on Cradled Panel

  • Unframed. Fits a wide variety of standard North American sized ready-made frames (frame is not included)

  • Shipping Included in Canada & US.
