Let’s see if I can get back with the program, it seems I needed a little break from social media!! So we are going back to summer with this post. This one day last August we tried fishing for halibut in a bank in the middle of Queen Charlotte Strait. Actually, let’s correct that: my husband tried fishing, I painted! It was a very quiet morning, the water was very still and we could hear whales in the distance, every now and then we would hear their puffs from them surfacing to breathe. We looked and looked but they were not close enough to see them. It’s was a beautiful day anyway! This is the painting created that day. I love the colours that happened.... I may have to do a larger version of this one. I called it Waiting as that is what we were doing: Waiting for the whales to get closer, for the fish to bait and for me to finish the painting!!

I am an artist living in Victoria, BC, Canada. I love to paint the beauty around me, capture moments and memories. I paint because the process gives me immense pleasure and joy. I paint because it allows me to remember places I have been to, moments I have lived. Just like music can in an instant transport you to a different time, my art has the ability to take me back in time and place and put a smile on my face. I paint because it allows me to imagine my next trip or my next walk in the woods. It mean it to be an invitation for you to pause and just simply enjoy the moment. Hope you enjoy my art! Archives
